【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcovershydraulicconductivitycompatibilitytestingofsaturatedsoilsinthelaboratorywithaqueoussolutionsthatmayalterhydraulicconductivity(forexample,wasterelatedliquids)usingaflexible-wallpermeameter.Ahydraulicconductivitytestisconducteduntilbothhydraulicandchemicalequilibriumareachievedsuchthatpotentialinteractionsbetweenthesoilspecimenbeingpermeatedandtheaqueoussolutionaretakenintoconsiderationwithrespecttothemeasuredhydraulicconductivity.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletosoilswithhydraulicconductivitieslessthanapproximately110-8m/s.1.3Inadditiontohydraulicconductivity,intrinsicpermeabilitycanbedeterminedforasoilifthedensityandviscosityoftheaqueoussolutionareknownorcanbedetermined.1.4Thistestmethodcanbeusedforallspecimentypes,includingundisturbed,reconstituted,remolded,compacted,etc.specimens.1.5Aspecimenmaybesaturatedandpermeatedusingthreemethods.Method1isforsaturationwithwaterandpermeationwithaqueoussolution.Method2isforsaturationandpermeationwithaqueoussolution.Method3isforsaturationwithwater,initialpermeationwithwater,andsubsequentpermeationwithaqueoussolution.1.6Theamountofflowthroughaspecimeninresponsetoahydraulicgradientgeneratedacrossthespecimenismeasuredwithrespecttotime.Theamountandpropertiesofinfluentandeffluentliquidsaremonitoredduringthetest.1.7ThehydraulicconductivitywithanaqueoussolutionisdeterminedusingproceduressimilartodeterminationofhydraulicconductivityofsaturatedsoilswithwaterasdescribedinTestMethodsD5084.Severaltestprocedurescanbeused,includingthefallingheadwater-risingtailwater,theconstant-head,thefallingheadwater-constanttailwater,ortheconstantrate-of-flowtestprocedures.1.8ThestandardunitsforthehydraulicconductivityvaluesaretheSIunits,unlessotherunitsarespecified.Hydraulicconductivityhastraditionallybeenexpressedincm/sintheU.S.,eventhoughtheofficialSIunitforhydraulicconductivityism/s.1.9ThisstandardcontainsaHazardssectionrelatedtousinghazardousliquids(Section7).Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Theconventionaldeterminationofoxygencontentinliquidorsolidsamplesisarelativelydifficultchemicalprocedure.Itisslowandusuallyoflimitedsensitivity.The14-MeVneutronactivationanddirectcountingtechniqueprovidesarapid,highlysensitive,nondestructiveprocedureforoxygendeterminationinawiderangeofmatrices.Thistestmethodisindependentofthechemicalformoftheoxygen.Thistestmethodcanbeusedforqualityandprocesscontrolinthemetals,coal,andpetroleumindustries,andforresearchpurposesinabroadspectrumofapplications.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofoxygenconcentrationinalmostanymatrixbyusinga14-MeVneutronactivationanddirect-countingtechnique.Essentially,thesamesystemmaybeusedtodetermineoxygenconcentrationsrangingfromover50%toabout10g/g,orless,dependingonthesamplesizeandavailable14-MeVneutronfluencerates.Note1-Therangeofanalysismaybeextendedbyusinghigherneutronfluencerates,largersamples,andhighercountingefficiencydetectors.1.2Thistestmethodmaybeusedoneithersolidorliquidsamples,providedthattheycanbemadetoconforminsize,shape,andmacroscopicdensityduringirradiationandcountingtoastandardsampleofknownoxygencontent.Severalvariantsofthismethodhavebeendescribedinthetechnicalliterature.Amonographisavailablewhichprovidesacomprehensivedescriptionoftheprinciplesofactivationanalysisusinganeutrongenerator(1).1.3ThevaluesstatedineitherSIorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionsaregiveninSection8.
